On August 27, 2026, Melanie Rae was invited to speak to the North Georgia Veterans Society in Cleveland, Georgia, for a special keynote presentation, “No One Left Behind.”

Drawing from the real-life caregiving journey behind Sitting in the Chair: When Something Didn’t Feel Right — How I Learned to Speak Up, Melanie shared lessons learned while caring for her husband, Roger, a Vietnam veteran, through serious illness and an often complicated healthcare system.

The presentation focused on what it truly means to make sure no one gets left behind—especially when illness, disability, or aging leaves someone depending on others to notice, ask questions, follow through, and speak up.
